Happy July! I hope you looked after yourself last month. As we head further into summer, here are some of the ways I will be practising self care in July.
Break from the Norm
“If you think adventure is dangerous, try routine; it is lethal.” Paulo Coelho
It’s all too easy to get sucked into the mundane routines of everyday life. Work, home, gym. Rinse and repeat.
Last week my therapist set me ‘homework’ to break from routine whenever I can and take the opportunity to do something for myself. Even if its something as small as going for a walk or heading out for a cup of coffee.
Stepping out from your usual routine every now and then gives you an opportunity to clear your head and get out of a rut.
Plan a Trip
Manchester has FINALLY realised that its summer. And with the warm weather comes my inevitable itchy feet. Cue lots of European trips I have planned.
I really believe that travel improves your mental health and now is the perfect time to plan a trip somewhere new and take some time to get away and clear your head.

Give Daily Meditation a Try
Meditation really helps calm my mind whenever I feel stressed or upset. And all it takes is a quick ten minutes.
Headspace is my favourite app for this.
